The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, and its student-run Supply Chain Management Society, named John T. “Jock” Menzies, chairman of the Terminal Corp., a Baltimore-based warehouse, trucking and distribution company, as the 2009 “Person of the Year.”
Menzies was applauded not only for his role at the head of a major mid-Atlantic logistics company but also for his leadership in philanthropic efforts.
Menzies is a director and the first president of the American Logistics Aid Network, an organization formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to provide efficient distribution of humanitarian aid for disaster relief.
