The Limited-Service Eating Places sub-sector, which includes eateries that generally don’t have real wait-staff but provide some partial services like bringing food to seated customers and cooking food to order, had an employment base of 73,458 workers in the first quarter of 2009.

Growth for the sub-sector between the first quarters of 2008 and 2009 declined at a negligible rate of 0.5 percent. This was the fifth consecutive annual decline for the sub-sector after 24 annual consecutive expansions.
