Baltimore’s deputy mayor, who had served under convicted former Mayor Sheila Dixon, is stepping down.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake says Deputy Mayor Andrew Frank will leave the post in mid-May and take a position with Johns Hopkins University.
Frank has served as Deputy Mayor for Neighborhoods and Economic Development since January 2007. Frank had previously been the Executive Vice President for the Baltimore Development Corporation.
The mayor issued a statement Tuesday night saying Frank will be a special adviser to the president of Johns Hopkins University on economic development initiatives.
