House OKs mandatory breaks for retail (access required)

ANNAPOLIS – The House of Delegates approved legislation Tuesday that would require Maryland retailers to give their workers shift breaks. Nearly identical legislation will be debated Wednesday in the Senate, where it enjoys wide support.
