Officials with the Maryland ACLU said Wednesday they have filed a complaint with the Baltimore City Community Relations Commission over the incident.

According to the ACLU, the Baltimore woman assured representatives of Contemporary Family Services that she would honor the religious beliefs of any child in her care, but the agency denied her application over her objections to having pork products in her home.

Officials with Contemporary Family Services, a private agency authorized by the state to certify foster families, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
