Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski has officially filed for re-election.
Mikulski formally submitted her campaign paperwork Monday morning in Annapolis, although she has been campaigning around the state for more than a week.
The 73-year-old Mikulski is running for her fifth term as a Maryland senator. She is the first woman to win election to the U.S. Senate without succeeding a husband and is often referred to as the “Dean of the Women” of the U.S. Senate.
Mikulski also planned to meet with young professionals and small business owners Monday in Annapolis, and has scheduled visits to diners in Talbot and Dorchester Counties later in the day.

Quite frankly we need some new blood in Congress. Mikulski is one of the main reasons our taxes are so high here in Maryland and the U.S.. She promises everything to everyone at taxpayers expense.
New blood is right. Time for her to retire. Tax and Spend is her motto.
Senator Mikulsi’s contributions to our state have been immeasuarble. I wish it were possible to clone her so that more creatice, candid, and responsible members were in Congress.
