On the Move, 7/28: Warschawski promotes Goodell to VP

Susan Goodell has been promoted to vice president of Warschawski, of Baltimore. She had been senior director. Goodell develops and executes integrated marketing communications campaigns and leads for branding and strategic positioning sessions for clients. Before joining the firm in 2007, she was owner and director of Centerpiece Event and Promotion, a local event-planning company.

Awards

Purple Cherry Architects, of Annapolis, recently received a Maryland Award of Excellence for Marketing/Outstanding Use of Technology from the Home Builders Association of Maryland. The firm uses building information modeling software on all projects, which provides for tighter coordination and enables contractors to clearly understand design intent. The software also enables clients to visualize the complete design of their project in a “virtual computer model” before construction begins.

Boards

Cole J. Bishop became executive secretary July 1 of the Maryland FFA, formerly known as Future Farmers of America. Bishop, a recent graduate of West Virginia University, has served as Caroline FFA Chapter president, Maryland FFA state vice president and reporter and treasurer for Mountaineer Collegiate FFA.

Brien R. O’Toole has been appointed to the board of directors of Maryland New Directions, a nonprofit career counseling and job placement agency for low-income city residents. O’Toole is the housing development officer for the Maryland State Department of Housing and Community Development. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco during the 1980s. O’Toole has worked as development director for Homes for America and director of Enterprise Community Partners.

Health Care

Jill Donaldson is the new vice president of operations of Harbor Hospital, in Baltimore. Donaldson previously was vice president of perioperative services at Washington Hospital Center, after serving as vice president of cancer and neurosciences and administrator for women and infants’ services. She began her career at MedStar Health in 1996, then worked as administrator for cardiology and the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital.

IT

Joe Sanchez has joined Catapult Technology, of Bethesda, as business development director. He will be responsible for identifying information technology infrastructure and management consulting service opportunities in federal government agencies and proposing services for them. Sanchez has worked for several corporations, including as an account manager at IBM, and at Idea Integration, Booz Allen Hamilton and GPS Technologies. He also served as a U.S. Army officer.

Marketing

Emma Connor has joined the Maryland Science Center as promotions coordinator. She has held similar positions in event and operations support with Port Discovery Children’s Museum and Glazier-Kennedy Insider’s Circle. She is a graduate of Towson University, and a Certified Tourism Ambassador with Visit Baltimore.
