On the Move, 9/1: Community Foundation of Harford County elects new board officers

Community Foundation of Harford County has elected new board officers: Donn Dietrich, president; Gregory Szoka, vice president; Jayne Klein, secretary; and Ed Kouneski, treasurer. Dietrich is general manager and chief operating officer of Maryland Golf and Country Clubs in Bel Air; he is a member of the Greater Harford Committee and on the board of the Greater Bel Air Community Foundation. Szoka is a principal with Stark and Keenan, P.A., a legal firm in Bel Air; he was a founding director of Community Foundation of Harford County and is a former president of the Harford County Bar Foundation. Klein is a registered dietitian with a private practice in Bel Air; she is president of the Harford County Advisory Board of Family and Children’s Services, and a member of the board of the Jewish National Fund. Kouneski, a CPA, is chief financial officer for Manekin LLC; he is also treasurer of Baltimore Area Special Hockey. The nonprofit Community Foundation of Harford County, which is supported by community donations, makes grants to local nonprofits and provides scholarships.

Awards

Renegade, a marketing communications company, of Hunt Valley, received five bronze awards during the 31st Annual Telly Awards. The awards were for: two business-to-consumer campaigns; a sports video; a documentary about a visit by Cal Ripken to China; and an e-instruction video. The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web.

Marketing

Matthew Anthony Chullin has been hired as an assistant account executive by Weinberg Harris & Associates, of Baltimore. Chullin, a music enthusiast, has held several internships in the music industry. Much of his focus will be on production marketing, public relations, sponsorship coordination, outreach and fulfillment for foundations, associations and special events for the firm’s roster of consumer and entertainment-based clients.

Nonprofits

Robert Ensinger recently assumed the position of chief operating officer of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, based in Silver Spring. He had served as senior vice president, director of brand development and communications since September 2005. Ensinger previously worked for the Paralyzed Veterans of America. The NFCC, a national network of community-based nonprofit credit counseling agencies, provides financial counseling on budgeting, debt issues, housing concerns including foreclosure prevention and reverse mortgage, as well as the mandated pre-filing counseling and pre-discharge education associated with bankruptcy.
