Electricite de France SA says its member on Constellation Energy Group Inc.’s board of directors will resign and the French company has nominated a Montreal attorney to fill the vacancy.
EDF did not give a reason and a Constellation spokesman deferred questions to EDF.
EDF said Monday that Daniel Camus would step down Thursday and Samuel Minzberg, a partner in the Montreal firm of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, has been nominated to fill the vacancy.
On Friday, Constellation offered to sell its stake in a joint nuclear venture to EDF. The two joined forces to build a third nuclear reactor at Constellation’s Calvert Cliffs plant in Maryland, but Constellation recently decided against applying for $7.5 billion in federal loan guarantees.
