FutureCare Cherrywood’s Leister honored by Md. Health Facilities Association

Donna Leister, administrator at FutureCare Cherrywood in Reisterstown, recently was named Administrator of the Year by the Health Facilities Association of Maryland.

For more than 20 years, Leister has provided care to older Marylanders and individuals with disabilities. She was featured in an HBO television series, “The Alzheimer’s Project,” concerning the work her nursing staff does every day, including short-term therapy and long-term care with residents at FutureCare Cherrywood.

Leister recently completed her doctorate, for which she researched “The Vanishing Nursing Home Administrator: Stress and Intent to Leave,” finding that the “number of hours worked per week” predicted active intent to leave their positions.
