Kellys honored at Ripken Foundation Gala

Former state Sen. Francis X. (Frank) and Janet Kelly, owners of Kelly & Associates Insurance Group, received the Cal, Sr. Award on Feb. 25 from the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation for their work in the community.

He served in the Maryland Senate for 12 years, and now is chair of the Shock Trauma Board of Visitors, board chairman of the University of Maryland Medical Center, and a regent of the University System of Maryland, where he heads the Finance Committee.

She is a trustee of Stevenson University, board director at Stella Maris, a nominating committee member at the National Aquarium, and an emeritus board member of the Sparrow House Maternity Home.

Also honored at the seventh annual Aspire Gala were former tennis pro Andre Agassi and Richard E. Marriott, chairman of Host Hotels and Resorts Inc.
