The attorney for a Baltimore councilwoman says she will dismiss her libel and defamation suit against a blogger.
Councilwoman Belinda Conaway sued Examiner.com political blogger Adam Meister and his publisher for $21 million over a column that alleged she doesn’t live in the city.
Conaway’s lawyer, Thomas Maronick, said Monday that he would file for dismissal. Election records show a Baltimore address for Conaway, but tax records show she listed a Reisterstown home as her primary residence.
Maronick says Conaway files jointly with her husband, who lives in Reisterstown part-time. He says they did not have the original tax documents when the suit was filed.
Meister says he is pleased to be able to express himself freely again.
