AirTran Airways, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines, said it will add nonstop service from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Aruba in the Caribbean on Saturday and Sunday, starting Dec. 17.
These will be the only nonstop flights between BWI and Aruba. The airline is pitching the new route with a special fare of $159 one-way for travel between Dec. 17, 2011, and March 14, 2012. Customers must book the discounted fare by Sept. 16, 2011, at www.airtran.com.
Regular one-way fares between BWI and Aruba on other airlines start at about $238, according to the CheapTickets website.
