Germantown-based Hughes’ Network Systems awarded contract

Hughes Network Systems LLC of Germantown, a provider of broadband satellite services, said it has been awarded a contract to provide an airborne satellite communications system for an unidentified U.S. government agency.
The Hughes-supplied equipment will be used for in-flight intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, including air and ground segments, and network management services.
Details of the contract were not released.
