ANNAPOLIS — Maryland’s General Assembly has passed a measure that redistricts five Somerset County commissioner districts.
Maryland’s House of Delegates passed the bill 135-1 on Tuesday. The emergency legislation will take effect when Gov. Martin O’Malley signs the bill later Tuesday at a bill signing ceremony.
The bill also specifies that the filing deadline for a candidate to the Somerset County Board of Education will be reopened until 12 p.m. on the second business day following the effective date of the bill.
