Author Nora Roberts has given a second consecutive $100,000 grant to McDaniel College in Westminster. The liberal arts college said the latest grant will support its academic minor in romance fiction and an online creative writing course on the subject.
Officials said the American romance collection in the Hoover Library, which has established McDaniel as one of the few centers for the study of the romance genre, will also benefit from the grant.
Roberts has written more than 200 romance novels, with more than 280 million copies in print.
McDaniel awarded her an honorary Doctor of Letters degree in 2006.
