O’Malley to swear in labor secretary

ANNAPOLIS — Gov. Martin O’Malley is scheduled to swear in a new labor secretary in Maryland.
The ceremony for Leonard Howie is scheduled for Wednesday in Annapolis.
Howie has served as deputy secretary for operations at the Maryland Department of Human Resources since November 2011.
Before that, he spent four and a half years as the labor department’s deputy secretary.
