With the approval Tuesday by Maryland voters of the state’s same-sex marriage law, Visit Baltimore, the city’s tourism agency, unveiled a new website, www.baltimore.org/lgbt-weddings.
Starting Jan. 1, 2013, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender couples can obtain a civil marriage license from the state. The website contains “everything same-sex couples need to know to get married in Baltimore, from practical information on how to obtain a marriage license to unique wedding venues and vendors, and information on Baltimore’s TAG-approved [LGBT-friendly] accommodations,” according to the announcement.
“We encourage the LGBT community to visit Baltimore to celebrate their commitments to one another,” said Tom Noonan, Visit Baltimore’s president and CEO.

Uh….. The “T” in LGBT stands for “Transgender,” not “transvestite.”
Transvestites are a very very small part of the transagender community, and the term also often has a very negative connotation.
Thanks!
Thank you for catching that. It has been corrected online.
