Baltimore’s police commissioner says an officer has been suspended following accusations of sexual misconduct involving an 18-year-old woman.
Commissioner Anthony W. Batts announced the suspension on Monday, calling the allegations “very serious.”
He says the complaint was received over the weekend and prompted an internal and criminal investigation. He says the department won’t tolerate misconduct, but that the officer is entitled to a fair investigation.
The officer, who police say was on-duty at the time of the alleged misconduct, has been suspended without pay.
