Lawyers-at-bail issue back in top court

Maryland lawmakers did not go far enough last year to protect defendants’ rights when they extended the exclusionary rule to statements made at a suspect’s initial bail hearing unless an attorney was present at the time, civil rights attorneys told Maryland’s top court Friday.
