Chindex International Inc., of Bethesda, a provider of Western health care products and services in China, earned $3.5 million, or 20 cents per diluted share, in its fourth quarter, up from $1.2 million, or 7 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Revenue rose 36.3 percent to $43.5 million in the 2012 quarter, from $31.9 million in the prior-year period.
The company said in-patient and out-patient volume of its United Family Healthcare, together with the expansion of its flagship hospital in Beijing, accounted for the growth. United Family Healthcare is a network of private care hospitals and ambulatory clinics in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangzhou.
