Top court bows out of 911 case

To the dismay of advocates for domestic-violence victims, Maryland’s top court on Thursday “dismissed as improvidently granted” a case that questioned whether calling 911 to report a violation of a protective order can justify an award of damages for malicious prosecution if the suspect is acquitted.
