ANNAPOLIS — Delegate Sam Arora says he won’t seek a second term next year.
The 32-year-old Montgomery County Democrat told supporters in a blog post on Friday that he plans to return to work in the private sector full time when his term ends.
Arora may be best known for a reversal on same-sex marriage legislation. He co-sponsored the bill in 2011, but ended up opposing the legislation. But Arora tells The Washington Post that electability did not factor heavily into his decision. He says it was based on whether he could govern well and be a good leader, husband and father at the same time.
Arora is vice president for business development at the Arora Group, which provides health care services to military veterans and active-duty personnel and their families.
