JESSUP — Maryland corrections officials are looking for an inmate who was mistakenly released because of a paperwork error.
The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services said Thursday that Sierra Scipioni was released from the Maryland Correctional Institute for Women on Dec. 3 after completing a sentence for a probation violation.
Officials say a Harford County judge sentenced Scipioni to an additional two years for another probation violation last month, but the new sentence was not recorded. Officials say there was a paperwork error in the department’s commitment office.
Officials have issued a warrant and police are searching for Scipioni.
