The Daily Record has announced the Top 100 Women who will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore on May 5.
This year, 370 women were nominated for the statewide honor. Of the 100 selected, 63 are first-time recipients. Fifteen women will be inducted into the Circle of Excellence this year. Circle of Excellence honorees are being honored for their third and final time.
A panel of judges, including business professionals and past Maryland’s Top 100 Women winners, selected this year’s honorees based on nominations, applications and letters of endorsement demonstrating their professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring.
“The Daily Record’s Maryland’s Top 100 Women was started in 1996 to shine the spotlight on accomplished women throughout the state,” said publisher Suzanne Fischer-Huettner. “The honorees are women who excel at their jobs. They are keenly devoted to bettering the communities where they live and work. They devote their time, their talents and their mentoring skills to improving Maryland’s businesses, its residents, its communities and its future woman leaders.”
As part of honoring the Top 100 Women in Maryland, The Daily Record also gives a $1,500 Circle of Excellence scholarship to a female college student who excels academically and in the community. The winner of the scholarship will be announced May 5 at the awards celebration.
All 100 women, as well as the scholarship recipient, will be recognized during an awards celebration May 5.
