A discount clothing store has opened as part of the 38,000-square-foot redevelopment project of the former Motor Vehicle Administration office site at Mondawmin Mall.
The 25,000-square-foot Ross Dress for Less opened earlier this month, and a 10,000-square-foot Deals opened last September. A yet-to-be-named retailer will also occupy a 2,500-square-foot space.
“The opening of Ross Dress for Less is the first step toward the completion of our renovation project,” Romaine Smallwood-Smoot, general manager for Mondawmin Mall, said in a news release. “Mondawmin Mall works to build upon the community’s support and offer our shoppers several new reasons to visit us.”
Mondawmin Mall underwent a massive 225,000 square-foot-expansion in 2008. The existing 360,000 square-foot-space was renovated as part of the project.
The mall is home to the first Target store in the city, and is owned by General Growth Properties.
