Michelle Wirzberger, director of legislative affairs for City Council President Bernard C. “Jack” Young, has been named the executive director of the Midtown Community Benefits District.
The district includes the Bolton Hill, Charles North, Madison Park and Mount Vernon neighborhoods. Property owners in those communities are charged a surtax of 0.132 cents per $100 of assessed value that is spent on various supplemental services.
“I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work for an elected official whose legislative agenda mirrored his personal commitment toward developing transparency in government and establishing programs that encouraged the intellectual development of our youth,” Wirzberger said in a news release. “I will miss the fast-paced nature of City Hall, but I am excited about the opportunity to use my professional background and legal expertise on behalf of the Midtown Community Benefits District.”
