The scheduled auction of the Trentham Mansion in Owings Mills has been delayed.
The historic home was set to go on the block late this morning, but the auction was delayed so the owners and Alex Cooper Auctioneers could negotiate a deal with a private buyer.
The 8,400-square-foot property is located on a three-quarter acre lot and the zoning allows for a variety of uses including mixed-use, multi-family or even restaurant space.
According to state tax records, the property last sold in 2006 for $535,000 and state property assessments value the property at $467,100.
The bathhouse on the site dates back to the colonial era, and the mansion itself was rebuilt in 1860 after the original structure was destroyed by fire.
