Ken Capone, public policy coordinator for People On the Go at the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities at Kennedy Krieger Institute, is one of 11 to be appointed by President Obama to the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. Capone will work with fellow committee members to provide advice and assistance to the president and the secretary of Health and Human Services on topics that impact people with intellectual disabilities and the field of intellectual disabilities. Capone joined MCDD in 2013 through a partnership with self-advocacy organization People On The Go, where he had held his position in public policy since 2010. Previously, Capone served as director of the Cross Disability Rights Coalition of Maryland from 2004 to 2010. He is a board member of the Maryland Disability Law Center.
