Maryland Public Television has promoted Jay Parikh to vice president and head of MPT’s content division. Parikh joined MPT in 2012 as managing director of the station’s Content Enterprises unit, bringing to his position more than three decades’ experience in the entertainment industry, broadcasting, and program development and distribution. He oversees nearly three dozen staff producers and writers, plus talent and freelance professionals whose combined efforts result in more than 200 hours of local, regional and national programs annually, delivered via traditional and online platforms. He also supervises local sponsorship sales and corporate underwriting, licensing and national distribution of MPT’s programs. Parikh also oversees MPT’s programming team that provides scheduling for three separate MPT channels.
