The Gold Heart Award, the American Heart Association’s highest national recognition for volunteerism, was presented to Neil Meltzer, president and CEO of LifeBridge Health, for his two decades of leadership and advocacy. Only two people in the country were selected in 2014. Meltzer served as the association’s national president in 2009-10. He teamed with former President Bill Clinton to recognize schools that made great strides in helping students lead healthy, productive lives through The Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Meltzer has chaired several national committees and heads the National Compensation and Benefits Committee, while being a member of the National Innovation Think Tank and the Conflict of Interest Review Committee. Lifebridge Health consists of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Courtland Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and LifeBridge Health & Fitness.
