Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake Inc., of Elkton, has received a grant of $291,177 from Senior Service America Inc. This grant will enable a minimum of 48 low-income older adults in Cecil and Harford counties to work in temporary, part-time jobs through June 30, 2015. They will participate in the Senior Community Service Employment Program, established by the Older Americans Act more than 40 years ago. This is the second consecutive year that Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake has received a grant from Senior Service America, of Silver Spring. While employed as SCSEP participants, the workers will be assigned to 14 local nonprofit and government agencies, including Meals on Wheels, Harford Community College, Harford County Public Library and Union Hospital.
