The Tate Cancer Center at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie is now formally affiliated with the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center in Baltimore.
Since opening in 2003, the Tate Cancer Center has been “closely associated” with the Greenebaum Cancer Center, but officials said Tuesday that the new agreement “formalizes their relationship” and expands opportunities for collaboration.
In particular, patients of the Tate Cancer Center will now have greater access to clinical trials conducted in Baltimore. The Greenebaum Cancer Center is also affiliated with the Kaufman Cancer Center at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Harford County and the St. Joseph Medical Center’s Cancer Institute in Towson. Both of those two hospitals are also part of the University of Maryland Medical System.
