Roikensha Craig has been named executive director of Head Start operations with the Y in Central Maryland. In addition, Debra Barrett was named a regional Head Start director for Baltimore County, Tiana Richardson was named a regional Head Start director for Anne Arundel County and Amy Taylor was named a regional Y Head Start director for Baltimore City.
As executive director of Head Start operations, Craig will oversee all Head Start program delivery across the region, further develop Y Head Start, ensure compliance to the Head Start Performance Standards and oversee the three regional Head Start directors. She has served as the executive director of Y Baltimore City Head Start for nine years and during her tenure, has successfully transitioned the Y from being a city delegate serving 321 children to a direct grantee, serving 686 children.
The regional directors will lead a Head Start operating team, consisting of a director of early childhood development/health services, curriculum & environments specialist, early intervention coordinator, early learning coaches, child health & nutrition coordinator, data & outcomes coordinator, operations manager, zone managers, director of family & community partnerships, parent engagement coordinator, ERSEA specialist, family advocates and home visitors.
