Flying Dog Brewery officially owns the $2.25 million site in Frederick where it intends to build a 150,000-square-foot brewery.

The brewery recorded the deed on a 31.69-acre portion of property called Bowman Farm, according to the city. Flying Dog currently operates a brewery outside the city at 4607 Wedgewood Blvd.

“The Bowman Farm property was a somewhat complex transaction, but right from the start, the city of Frederick moved the process along expeditiously while protecting the interests of the city. We tremendously appreciate everyone’s assistance,” Jim Caruso, CEO of Flying Dog, said in a statement.

Frederick purchased the property for $5.4 million in 2008 to support infrastructure improvements at Frederick Municipal Airport. City officials then decided a portion of the property wasn’t needed for that project and agreed to sell it to the brewery in September 2015.
