Jeremy S. Scholtes, Esq.
Miles & Stockbridge PC
As an Army platoon leader and staff officer during three tours in Iraq, Jeremy Scholtes learned lessons about leadership that still guide him as an attorney and a community pillar.
“Those experiences shaped who I am today and, I am confident, made me a better legal adviser and lawyer at Miles and Stockbridge,” Scholtes said.
Scholtes spent a dozen years in the Army, during which, besides his tours overseas, he earned his law degree at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. In 2014, after he’d gotten out of the Army, he joined Miles & Stockbridge’s Frederick office, where he is an associate in the Commercial and Business Litigation Group.
A native of Wisconsin, Scholtes has embedded himself in his adopted home of Frederick. Among other activities, he is involved with the Frederick County Business and Industry Cabinet, Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Downtown Frederick Partnership.
He also is an active member of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, gave the graduation address at the 2016 Leadership Frederick County Class and coaches his son’s baseball team.
“I am blessed to live and work in Frederick,” Scholtes said. “I simply aspire to be the guy who plugs in … to continue building Frederick into a safe place to raise and educate our kids, a dynamic business environment and a community that is open and welcoming to everyone.”
