Rebecca S. Teaff
Owner and Chief Creative Officer
Redstart Creative is not your typical marketing company. The brainchild of owner and chief creative officer Rebecca Teaff, Redstart focuses on nonprofits that are driving “positive change,” helping them with marketing, branding and web design.
Among the Baltimore company’s clients are Catholic Charities, The Arc Baltimore and Marian House, a Baltimore housing transition program for homeless women.
“We help organizations that are changing the world,” Teaff said. “I lead with my heart and I want to leave the world better than I found it.”
Teaff launched her company in 2009 after stints as a graphic designer and art director with other advertising and marketing agencies. “This was my career path out of college and now I love owning and running a business,” she said.
Teaff, 39, also is a big believer in community service. She and her 17 employees participate in two service days a year, helping nonprofit organizations, and in 2012 she started the mentoring program for B’more Creatives, a Baltimore-based networking group for creative and marketing professionals.
Teaff cites her “amazing parents and a big loving family” as an influence in both her business and community work. Her family taught her the importance of teamwork and collaboration, which she said is one of the core values of Redstart Creative, and the importance of volunteering.
Her family also taught her the art of delegating, she said, which she learned “from bossing around three younger brothers.”
