As a policy analyst for the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services, Geanelle Griffith Herring oversees the review and evaluation of new legislation, legislative initiatives, policy and regulations for potential impact on the health care industry to include private and public health insurance programs.
Earning a master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Griffith Herring began her professional career as a family services caseworker for the Baltimore City Department of Social Services. She came to her current position at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 2012 after working at the federal agency as a social science research analyst and a health insurance specialist.
