Michelle M. McGeogh, an associate in Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department, has joined the Board of Young Adult Advisors for the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. McGeogh is a member of the Labor and Employment Group and the Commercial Real Estate Recovery Group.

Dean A. Manson, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of the Germantown broadband satellite company Hughes Network Systems and parent company EchoStar Corp., has been named Outstanding Chief Legal Officer by the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association. Manson won the award for integrating the legal departments of EchoStar and Hughes after the 2011 acquisition of Hughes by EchoStar.

David B. Rudow, member of Baltimore’s Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler LLC has been named the Best Lawyers’ 2013 Baltimore Corporate Law Lawyer of the Year. Best Lawyers is known as the oldest peer-review publication in the legal profession. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honored as a Lawyer of the Year. Rudow also was included in the tax law and trusts and estates sections of The Best Lawyers in America.
