Eye Opener: Transportation secretary steps down

Transportation Secretary Beverley Swaim-Staley
Sunday marked the last day as transportation secretary for Beverley Swaim-Staley, the first woman to hold the position.
Swaim-Staley oversaw the reopening of BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport after the Sept. 11 attacks and a successful run at the Port of Baltimore brought, aided by a public-private partnership with Ports America Chesapeake.
“You get to a point where you want to do something different,” Swaim-Staley told The Baltimore Sun.
