Eye Opener: Duncan to run for Montgomery County Executive
By: Alexander Pyles
If Congress can extend federal tax credits for wind turbine development and energy production, one Baltimore city councilman says turbines should be spinning in the city.
Here’s a few other government headlines for Thursday morning:
- The Washington Post reports Doug Duncan, a former Montgomery County Executive, is planning to run for the post again.
- The Frederick News-Post reports proposed state legislation would automatically make people organ donors when they receive a driver’s license, reversing the current process by allowing licensees to opt-out rather than opt-in.
- MarylandReporter.com reports the state is thinking about allowing developers to build in off-limits areas in exchange for paying for enhanced pollution controls.
- The Baltimore Sun reports the NAACP is targeting Maryland in its campaign against the death penalty.
