Eye Opener: O’Malley must round up votes for death penalty repeal

Here’s a few government and politics headlines to start Thursday:
- The Baltimore Sun reports that Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr., D-Calvert and and Prince George’s, said he would assure a floor vote on a death penalty repeal if Gov. Martin O’Malley can first round up the votes.
- The Washington Post reports a state government-appointed task force is recommending guns be taken away from those who threaten violence.
- The Daily Record reports the state Board of Public Works took another step toward preparing a future wind farm off the coast of Ocean City.
