Wasting no time after Maryland approved same-sex marriage with passage of Question 6 in Tuesday’s balloting, Visit Baltimore has put up a microsite — www.baltimore.org/lgbt-weddings — to encourage those couples who want to tie the knot to come here to tie it.

The site links to the Baltimore LGBT Visitors Guide, connects to a list of TAG-approved (certified as gay-friendly) hotels and features suggested wedding venues.

“We encourage the LGBT community to visit Baltimore to celebrate their commitments to one another,” Tom Noonan, president and CEO of Visit Baltimore, says in a news release. “As a city, we have long been proud to support the rights and equality of our visitors, and the legalization of same-sex marriage is another important step forward.”
