Schroeder named CEO of PGFCU
Robert P. Schroeder has been named chief executive officer of the Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union. A veteran of the credit union industry, Schroeder most recently served as vice president of lending and branch Services at Securityplus Federal Credit Union.
Schroeder was selected for the CEO position following an extensive search conducted by the PGCFCU Board of Directors to find a successor to Cindy Prestandrea. Prestandrea, who has served as CEO of PGCFCU for the past 17 years, recently announced her retirement.
Prior to joining Securityplus in 2010, Schroeder served as vice president of lending at Destinations Credit Union where he was responsible for lending, reporting and disaster recovery planning. He also has held positions at Johns Hopkins FCU (vice president of lending and branch operations), Atlantic Financial FCU (vice president of member services), and BUCS FCU (member services manager).
A graduate of Towson University and Loyola College (now University) Maryland, Schroeder began his career in the financial services industry with First National Bank of Maryland. After serving as a branch manager, he was promoted to operations officer and then financial services officer.
