Irving E. Walker, a member of Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard, P.A. in Baltimore, has been named Baltimore’s “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization by Best Lawyers for the second year in a row.

Walker has represented debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, and other interested parties in bankruptcy cases, out-of-court restructurings, and litigation arising out of distressed or failed businesses for more than 32 years. Walker’s litigation experience includes precedent-setting cases at the trial and appellate court levels, including the U.S. Supreme Court, where he won a unanimous decision in the case of Citizens Bank of Maryland v. Strumpf in 1995.

Gary H. Leibowitz, another member of Cole Schotz’s Baltimore office, was also recognized by Best Lawyers in the field of bankruptcy law.
