Kaiser-Mohondro joins The Children’s Guild as clinical director

Kaiser-Mohondro has 28 years of experience in social work. Her responsibilities at The Children’s Guild include training and professional development of the clinical staff and aligning the schools’ clinical programs with the students’ home and community environment.

Previously, Kaiser-Mohondro was director of clinical services for Adventist Behavioral Health, where she restructured the clinical services program. She also served as clinical director for Center-For-Children Inc. and clinical services manager for Compass Health. In addition, she held positions with the United States District Court, University of Washington, Whidbey Counseling, Whidbey General Hospital and Arizona State University.

Among her professional distinctions, Kaiser-Mohondro is a licensed clinical social worker in the states of Maryland and Washington. She holds certifications in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, independent social work, and marriage and family therapy.

She earned her master’s degree in social work from West Virginia University and bachelor’s degree in from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Ind. In addition, she received training at the Family Therapy Institute in Washington, D.C.

Zimmerli named principal of The Children’s Guild’s Baltimore campus

Laurie Zimmerli

Dr. Laurie Zimmerli has been named principal of the Baltimore campus of The Children’s Guild, which serves children and adolescents who are difficult to educate due to autism, multiple disabilities and trauma. Zimmerli holds a doctorate in education and has more than 15 years of experience.

Prior to joining The Children’s Guild, Zimmerli was principal for Good Shepherd School, where she led the planning, development and implementation of the school’s curriculum among other responsibilities. Previously, she served Hannah More School in different roles, including principal, coordinator of Anne Arundel County programs, assistant principal and teacher. She also was a middle school teacher and behavior intervention specialist at Strawbridge School.

Zimmerli holds certifications in special education, history, administration, therapeutic crisis intervention and crisis intervention training. In addition, she serves with the Maryland Online IEP Workgroup and Nonpublic Subcommittee and is a member of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Zimmerli earned her doctorate from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and master’s degrees in educational administration and special education from McDaniel College. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Towson University.

Sculley named environmental design director at The Children’s Guild

The Children’s Guild has named Wayne Sculley director of environmental design.

Sculley brings more than 20 years of experience in facilities management with a professional background in display design. Previously, he served The Children’s Guild as director of facilities management focusing more on physical plant. In addition, he was a regional service manager with Energy Systems Group where he managed maintenance contracts with Baltimore County Public Schools and the University of Baltimore.

Sculley was a senior facilities manager for Erickson Retirement Communities where he managed the launch of two continuous-care retirement communities in Maryland. He also served as facilities manager for Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pa.

The Children’s Guild serves children and adolescents who are difficult to educate due to autism, multiple disabilities and trauma.
