Daigle to be installed as Anne Arundel Bar president

Jessica Daigle will be installed as the 81st president of the Anne Arundel Bar Association on June 25. Daigle serves on the juvenile trial team within the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office, where she has worked since 2000. Previously, she worked as assistant state’s attorney in Charles County.

Daigle joined the AABA in 2000, was named to the Board of Trustees and Officers in 2005 and won the annual President’s Award in 2008. She has served as chairwoman of AABA’s Community Service Division and the Continuing Legal Education  Committee. For two consecutive years, she led the planning committee for the Barrister’s Ball, an annual event which raises funds to support the Anne Arundel Court Appointed Special Advocates.

A 1989 graduate of Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., Daigle received her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1995. Jessica, her husband Gary, and their son and daughter reside in Crownsville.

Lakin appointed to Alzheimer’s commission

Karin Lakin, assisted living co-chairwoman with the LifeSpan Network, has been appointed to the Maryland Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Commission.

Lakin owns and operates a community in Charles County specializing in Alzheimer’s care. She owns two medical adult day care centers and operates several assisted living communities throughout the state.

Gov. Martin O’Malley established the commission last year with a mission to increase public awareness about the disease and related disorders.
