Meet the Authors
The On the Record law blog was launched in October, 2007 and is a product of The Daily Record’s legal affairs staff. We hope you will join the discussion with our talented writers. They are:
Steve Lash(@Steve_Lash)
Steve Lash covers the Maryland Court of Appeals and the General Assembly’s judiciary committees for The Daily Record.
He joined the newspaper in 2008 after spending nearly 20 years covering the U.S. Supreme Court and legal affairs for several publications, including the Houston Chronicle, Cox Newspapers, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, and West’s Legal News.
He was a contributing author to “A Good Quarrel: America’s Top Legal Reporters Share Stories from Inside the Supreme Court,” published in 2009 by The University of Michigan Press.
Lash, a graduate of American University’s Washington College of Law, is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court and Maryland bars.
Kristi Tousignant (@TDRKristi)
Kristi Tousignant is the business of law reporter for The Daily Record.
She joined the newspaper in March 2012 after stints at The Gazette in Montgomery County and the Republican-American in Waterbury, Conn. She also worked for a weekly German newspaper in Berlin while studying abroad in college.
Tousignant is a graduate of the University of Maryland and a Terp for life. She has lived in every region of the United States, but has decided there is nowhere like the Maryland- Washington, D.C., region.
Beth Moszkowicz (@TDRBeth)
Beth Moszkowicz covers trial courts for The Daily Record.
She joined the newspaper in October 2012 after covering corporate legal affairs for the New York Law Journal and serving as a Public Information Officer for the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
Moszkowicz is a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She grew up in Massachusetts and Wisconsin, and is excited to call Baltimore her new home after having lived in New York City for seven years.
Danny Jacobs (@TDRDanny)
Danny Jacobs has been web editor at The Daily Record since June 2011. But he’s a law reporter at heart, having spent the previous three years covering Baltimore County courts, the University of Baltimore and University of Maryland law schools and the Maryland State Bar Association.
He might not blog as much as he did while a legal affairs reporter, but he still keeps an eye out for blog posts about the lighter side of law — silly lawsuits, stupid criminals and anything related to sports and pop culture.
