A paralyzed woman’s failure to file a complaint within a six-month window allowed by the Federal Tort Claims Act means that the claim was properly dismissed, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has held.

A former security guard at Andrews Air Force Base was awarded $120,000 by a federal judge for a “prank” played on her by Air Force personnel that included having her searched by a guard dog.
