With Little Public Area Available, It’s Tough Politicking in Private Columbia

Planning petition drives or protests can be challenging in towns such as the planned community of Columbia, where many places that appear to be public are actually private property and no organized political activity is allowed.<@SM><@SM><TAB>Protesters and politicos face similar challenges in communities across America, where shopping malls have become the new town centers. People mix and mingle but generally can’t pass out leaflets or picket.
